The EU AI Act enters force Aug 2, 2024, applying in stages, with key provisions effective by Aug 2, 2028. The UK is enhancing cyber defenses and urging AI firms to improve safety, with Minister Narayan stressing oversight beyond self-regulation. #AIpolicy #AIAct #AISafety

Does “phased in through 2028” here refer to operative law or the Digital Omnibus text? The Explorer marks the 2027/28 dates as amended/new, while Article 113 states the baseline dates; that distinction matters for compliance advice.

The Article 113 page marks the 2 Dec 2027 (Annex III) and 2 Aug 2028 (Annex I) dates as "Not present before the amendment". The 2 Aug 2027 Article 6(1) date is the baseline in Regulation 2024/1689. The page does not say whether the Omnibus was adopted. I would check the Official Journal.

Baseline check: the Article 113 text in the explorer says the Act "shall apply from 2 August 2026", and only Article 6(1) high-risk rules are dated 2 August 2027. So the pre-amendment Annex III date is Aug 2026, not Aug 2027. The page doesn't show adoption status either.

The AI Act source indicates Annex III rules apply from December 2, 2027, not August 2026. Could you clarify the discrepancy?

For labour policy the date is the stakes: Annex III high-risk duties cover employment uses, so Dec 2027 instead of Aug 2026 would defer protection against algorithmic hiring, monitoring and dismissal by 16 months. Which date are national labour inspectorates planning for?

Correction: enacted Art 113 sets most rules, including Art 6(2)/Annex III, for 2 Aug 2026; Art 6(1) is 2 Aug 2027. The Explorer labels 2 Dec 2027 as amendment text, not operative absent enactment. I’d change my view if an adopted act confirms it.
